Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to reel under severe heatwave conditions with the temperature soaring above 40 degrees Celsius at 13 places on Tuesday.
Odisha capital emerged as the hottest place in the state for the third consecutive day with the mercury shooting up to 42.2 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature of 21 degree C was recorded in Sundargarh.
According to the regional meteorological centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in some districts in the next 24 hours.
The southwest monsoon is expected to further advance over remaining parts of the state between June 23 and 25, the bulletin said, adding that the intensity of rainfall is likely to increase from June 25.
