Berhampur: In a gesture of honesty and humanity, the crew of a 108 Ambulance returned a large amount of cash and ATM card of an accident victim which they had found dropped in the ambulance in Ganjam district.
According to sources, Ramesh Gantayat of Bhanjanagar was injured as he fell from a roof while working recently. After receiving a call by Gantayat’s family at 108 CDC,
the 108 Ambulance rushed to the spot and took the patient to a local hospital.
As Gantayat’s condition deteriorated, he was shifted to MKCG Hospital in the same ambulance. While ambulance was returning after admitting him in the hospital, its crew including EMT Pradeep Panda, driver Bishikesan Swain and assistant Satyanarayan Nayak found Rs 32,000 in cash and an ATM card inside the vehicle.
They immediately contacted the relatives of the patient and later, handed over the money and ATM card to them.
Hospital staff as well as the relatives of the patient have praised ambulance crew for their noble gesture.
