Bhubaneswar: Noted educationist Kshiti Bhusan Das has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand.
He is among the 12 appointees approved by President Ram Nath Kovind, who is the Visitor to central universities, the Ministry of Education (MoE) officials informed on Friday.
Das had assumed the officer of Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Odisha, Sunabeda in Koraput district, in January this year.
Prior to that, he was Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He has 38 years of teaching experience and served as Dean and Professor of Commerce and Management, Utkal University and SOA University in Bhubaneswar.
Das has written five books – ‘Role of Commercial Banks in Financing Weaker Section- 1998’, ‘Financial Services for Rural Development- 2006’, ‘Business Studies part I- 2008’ and ‘Business Studies part II- 2008’, ‘Fundamental Principles- 2009’ and ‘Inclusive Growth Through Financial Inclusion- 2012’.
He has published about 70 research papers in national and international journals.
The other newly-appointed vice-chancellors include Tankeshwar Kumar (Central University of Haryana), Prakash Bansal (Central University of Himachal Pradesh), Sanjeev Jain (Central University of Jammu), Battu Satyanarayana (Central University of Karnataka), Muthukalingan Krishnan (Central University of Tamil Nadu) and Basuthkar J Rao (Central University of Hyderabad).
