Keonjhar: In a unique initiative to enhance the learning experience of children, the Keonjhar district administration has installed child-friendly furniture in 356 anganwadi centers (AWCs) where children attend their pre-schooling.
In the first phase, the furniture was installed at anganwadi centers in mining-affected areas supported by DMF, Keonjhar under a Rs 1-crore project.
Officials said the furniture is of the highest quality and designed by keeping the safety of pre-school children in mind. The overall installation program was conducted during the lockdown period.
“Under DMF, child-friendly furniture has been provided to AWCs. This is a step to make the atmosphere of AWCs more lively. Having such child-friendly furniture will help in overall growth of child and inculcate new habits.. This will be scaled up gradually,” Keonjhar Collector Ashis Thakre said.
