Bhubaneswar: State School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Friday said that there was no change in the government’s decision to reopen primary schools in the state from January 3.
“There is no change in the state government’s decision to reopen primary schools. Classes from 1-5 will reopen from January 3, 2022,” Dash said.
After reports emerged that the state government might reconsider its decision to reopen primary schools from January 3, a senior official on Thursday had also cleared the confusion and said that the decision has not been changed.
The decision to reopen primary schools from January 3 will remain unchanged, School & Mass Education Department Secretary Satyabrata Sahu told the Sambad on Thursday.
The confusion arose after Director of Medical Education & Training (DMET) Rama Raman Mohanty told the media on Wednesday that with rising COVID and Omicron cases, the Odisha government may reconsider its decision to resume physical classes for primary school students from January 3.
