Bhubaneswar: Contrary to its earlier decision, the National Testing Agency (NTA), in a fresh notification, has decided not to allow the students afflicted by COVID-19 to appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) which is scheduled on Sunday, September 13.
In a letter to the centre superintendents, NTA said it has received the SOP from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on the preventive measures to be followed while conducting examinations to contain the spread of COVID-19. The SOP states that a clear policy on allowing/disallowing symptomatic candidates to undertake examinations shall be delineated by the examination conducting authorities in advance.
It said that in view of the interest of COVID-19 positive candidates and the safety of other candidates and examination personnel, the COVID positive candidates would be allowed to appear in the NEET (UG) 2020 at a later date, which will be finalised after the examination.
