Bhubaneswar: The state government has cleared the decks for senior OAS officer Santoshi Sahoo to become the Registrar of the Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar.
The services of Sahoo, who is now Additional Secretary in the Board of Revenue, are placed at the disposal of the OUHS for her posting as its Registrar, according to a notification of the General Administration and Public Grievance department.
“The services of Smt. Santoshi Sahoo, OAS (SAG), Additional Secretary, Board of Revenue, Odisha are hereby placed at the disposal of the Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar for her posting as Registrar, Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar,” the notification read.
Notification on her appointment will be issued from the Governors’ Secretariat as per the provision of the Act and Statutes of the Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar, it said.
It may be noted here that the OUHS got a new building at Ekamra Kshetra in Bhubaneswar last month. Health and Family Welfare Minister Niranjan Pujari inaugurated the building and also the e-office developed by the National Informatics Centre, Bhubaneswar to ease the day-to-day functioning of the university.
The Odisha University of Health Sciences Act was passed in 2021 and the university started its operation in the Ekamra Kshetra Sishu Bhawan Square in 2022.
The university was established with an objective to streamline the medical and allied health science courses. From 2023-24 academic session, courses like MBBS, MD, MS, DM, MCh, BDS, MDS, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, BPT, MPT, BMLT, BMRT, BEMT, BOTT, BAT, BO, BOT, MOT, BPharm and MPharm offered in the affiliated colleges will be governed under the regulations and courses of studies prescribed by the university.
