Sambalpur: Two children have tested positive for COVID-19 at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
Informing the media on Saturday, VIMSAR Superintendent Dr Lalmohan Patnaik said that an eight-month-old child and a five-year-old child have tested positive for the virus.
“The families had admitted the two ailing children with fever and flu symptoms three days ago. As fever persisted, they were made to undergo a rapid antigen test and the report confirmed that the duo had contracted the virus,” he said.
Patnaik said that the treatment of the children is underway at the COVID-II wing of VIMSAR.
