Jeypore: Five persons, including a minor, have been arrested for allegedly shooting nude videos of a boy and girl and blackmailing them.
The accused have been identified as Deepak Saud, Tukuna Jani, Rohit Gorda, Kapil Parichha and a minor, all belonging Kaudamba Sahi. They were arrested on Saturday on the basis of a complaint filed by one of the victims.
According to police sources, the 19-year-old boy and another girl of the same age from the town were abducted by two of the accused at knifepoint while they were doing combined studies near Loknath Temple at Parabeda on Friday. They were taken to a nearby hill top where the three others including a minor were waiting.
The accused beat up the complainant and his friend and forced them to strip. After shooting their nude video, they demanded Rs 50,000 from the duo and threatened to upload the video on social media if they failed to do so.
The complainant paid Rs 7,000 by borrowing money from his friends and promised to pay Rs 13,000 by Saturday and the remaining Rs 30,000 within a month.
Meanwhile, he lodged a complaint with the Town police and the accused was nabbed while receiving Rs 13,000. The cash and a knife were recovered from them.
Jeypore SDPO AA Behera informed that all accused have been sent to judicial custody and further investigation is on.
