Puri: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday by creating a special sand sculpture at Odisha’s Puri beach on Sunday.
As wishes poured in for Modi who turned 73, Pattnaik did it in a unique style. The renowned artist used 50 ‘Konark Wheels’ in the sand sculpture to thank the Prime Minister for using the replica of Konark Wheel from the Sun temple in Konark as backdrop for the ceremonial handshake with world leaders during the recently concluded G20 summit.
Pattnaik, who also created a sand sculpture of Modi along with the Konark Wheel replicas, said Odisha received immense honour during the G20 summit because of the Prime Minister.
As the Prime Minister’s birth coincided with Viswakarma Puja, President Droupadi Murmu and other dignitaries and politicians extended their best wishes to him.
The BJP will also launch “Sewa Pakhwara” from today till October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, to reach out to different sections of society with a host of welfare initiatives to mark the birthday of its preeminent leader.
Extending best wishes, the President said she wished that PM Modi with his foresight and strong leadership pave the way for India’s development in every field during the ‘Amrit Kaal’.
