Cuttack: A large number of aspirants staged a demonstration outside the office of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) in Cuttack on Thursday alleging irregularities in the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) examination held this year.
Alleging discrepancies in evaluation and marking in the examination, results of which were declared on November 7, the protesters sought the intervention of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to resolve the issue.
Many of the agitators said the Chief Minister should direct OPSC Chairman Satyajit Mohanty to look into the matter. The Commission Chairman should form a committee to conduct an impartial inquiry into the allegations, they said.
Asking the OPSC to clear the air, the agitators claimed that the Commission is yet to release the mark sheets of candidates, the cut-off mark and the answer key to the recruitment examination. It should also reveal the method of selection for successful candidates and the whole process should be done in a transparent manner, they said.
Urging the OPSC Chairman to listen to their grievances, they said corrective measures should be taken after conducting a thorough probe into alleged irregularities in the ASO examination.
The OPSC authorities are yet to give any comments on the allegations levelled by the unsuccessful candidates.
It may be noted here that the OPSC has issued the list of 1,104 successful candidates in the ASO Exam-2022 on November 7.
