Bhubaneswar: After most of the exit polls conducted by several agencies projecting two-fold jump in BJP’s Lok Sabha seats in Odisha, Axis My India’s exit poll for the Assembly elections in the state has given a major jump in saffron party’s seats.
As per the exit polls, conducted by Axis My India and India Today and released on Sunday, the BJP may have a huge gain to bag 60-80 seats while the ruling BJD may concede heavy loss by securing 62-80 seats. The Congress may also lose some seats and get 5-8 seats, the exit poll projected.
In the Assembly elections held in April 2019, the BJD had emerged victorious, securing a majority by getting 112 out of total 147 seats. The BJP had won 23 seats and Congress 9 seats.
The exit poll results also showed that BJP’s vote share may increase by massive 10% to 42% while that of BJD will drop by 2 to 3 per cent to 42%. Similarly, the Congress will concede 3% loss in vote share.
The polling for Assembly and Lok Sabha seats in the state was held from May 13 to June 1 in four phases of elections.
The results for the Odisha Assembly elections will be released on June 4, 2024 along with the results for the Lok Sabha Election.
