Bhubaneswar: As a mark of protest against the state government’s indifference to their demand for regularisation of jobs, the AYUSH doctors of Odisha wore black badges in their work places on Sunday.
Speaking to media persons in Bhubaneswar, president of State RBSK AYUSH Doctors’ Association Prabhat Mohanty said though their job portfolio is no way inferior to that of the MBBS doctors, the government is yet give them equal position.
“Be it COVID pandemic or any health emergency, we have been rendering our services with dedication and commitment. We have extended our services to the patients in most remote parts of the state. But the government is yet to recognise us at par with MBBS doctors,” he said.
Mohanty further said, “We took up our demand for regularisation of our jobs with the officers of the Health department. But the government has expressed its helplessness on the plea that the Centre has stopped the assistance for us.”
He said the AYUSH doctors across the state would continue wearing black badges to their work places to draw the attention of the government till February 19. If the government fails to take any step on their demand, they would take out a protest march to the chief minister’s house in Bhubaneswar, he added.
