Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday announced launch of Jana Samparka Padayatra and membership drive in October.
The padayatra will be held in two phases. The first phase will begin on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) and continue till October 6. It will resume after Durga Puja and will be held from October 21-30.
The Membership drive of the regional party will be conducted over two months. It will begin on October 9 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das and conclude on December 9.
The decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by BJD president Naveen Patnaik at Sankha Bhawan here.
