Bhubaneswar: Three wings of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will launch the party’s statewide agitation against rising price of LPG from tomorrow.
Speaking to media persons here, BJD spokesman and Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) president Byomakesh Ray said, party workers along with the members of Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) and BYJD will stage protest in all blocks under the three Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) zones from Monday.
As per the decision of the party, the activists will stage demonstration and gherao RDC office in Cuttack on November 22, in Sambalpur on November 23 and in Berhampur on November 24.
Ray further said as part of the agitation programme, besides the protest, the activists of the three wings will sensitise the people about the Centre’s failure in keeping the price of LPG under check.
Stating that the LPG price has gone up by 70% in last three and half years, Ray said much-hyped ‘Ujjwala Yojana’ of the Centre has failed to benefit the target population living below poverty line.
