Bhubaneswar: As many as 18 places in Odisha recorded temperature of 40 degree Celsius or more while the mercury soared past 42 degrees at 5 places on Monday.
According to evening bulletin of regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Sonepur recorded the highest temperature in the state with 43.2 degree Celsius, followed by Boudh 42.5, Phulbani 42.2, Titlagarh and Talcher 42 degree Celsius on the day.
The twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 37.7 and 37 degree Celsius respectively.
On Sunday, Balangir was the hottest place in the state recording 44.9 degree Celsius. Check the temperature at other places in Odisha:
