Bhubaneswar: Leaves of fire services personnel have been cancelled in view of a possible cyclonic storm forming in the Bay of Bengal in the coming days, informed Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, DG, Odisha Fire Services.
Collectors of 18 districts in Odisha have been asked to undertake all measures and stay prepared.
As many as 17 NDRF, 20 ODRAF and 175 fire services teams are on high alert.
All eyes are now on the possible cyclone.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is yet to make any forecast on the weather system, which developed into a low pressure in the South Andaman Sea and its neighbourhood on Friday and is likely to intensify into a cyclone. The IMD has said that chances of formation of a cyclonic storm are high.
