Bhubaneswar: After the Centre’s announcement on phase-3 vaccination from May 1, Odisha government said it is ready to inoculate people aged 18 and above.
Talking to mediapersons on Tuesday, Director, Health and Family Welfare Bijay Panigrahi said people in the age group of 18 and above will have to either register themselves through the Co-Win app. If not done online, they can register on the spot at session sites, he added.
He, however, said there will be no vaccination during the weekend shutdown.
Odisha is set to receive 1 lakh more doses of Covishield today. This will be helpful as Odisha is facing acute shortage of COVID vaccine, said Panigrahi.
On Monday, Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena had informed that weekend shutdown on Saturday and Sunday will be imposed in all urban areas of the State.
