Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha on Sunday issued a clarification on the complaints of the aspirants for OTET 2022 that they have been issued admit cards bearing two separate centres for the two examinations.

The BSE released the admit card for second examination of Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) on its official website on June 23 and asked the candidates to download it from the site. The OTET 2nd examination is scheduled to be conducted on July 1 instead of earlier schedule on June 23.

After downloading the admit cards, some candidates found that the examination centres for the two examinations on the same day have been mentioned at different places. One such candidate has been assigned the centre at Deogarh for the examination to be conducted from 8 am to 10.30 am. But the centre for the second examination scheduled for 12 noon to 2.30 pm is located in Dhenkanal.

Clarifying the confusion, BSE president Ramashis Hazra said the problem has cropped up as the candidates have not meticulously followed the guidelines while submitting the filled up forms for both examinations.

“As per the instructions, the aspirants, who have to appear at both examinations, are issued a registration number in the admit card issued for the first test. While submitting the form for the second examination, they should mention the same registration number. But some candidates have failed to do so. Since the Board has no scope to know that it is the same candidate, a separate admit card having a new examination centre has been issued,” said Hazra in a release.

He further said the control room of the Board has received such complaints from around 250 candidates. However, the Board is taking remedial measures and would trying to issue rectified admit cards to those aspirants through its website, he added.
