Bhubaneswar: The Mohan Majhi government on Thursday rebranded several schemes introduced by the previous BJD regime in Odisha.
KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) scheme has been renamed as CM-Kisan Yojana; Millet Mission as Shree Anna Yojana; Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha as Viksit Gaon, Viksit Odisha, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana as Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana and Mo School Abhiyaan as Panchasakha Sikshya Setu Abhiyaan.
The government has removed Biju Patnaik’s name from the free laptop distribution scheme and named it after poet Godabarisha Mishra.
Similarly, flagship investment summit ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave will be renamed as ‘Utkarsha Utkal’. “We are planning to bring in domestic investment of over Rs.2.5 lakh crore and FDI of over 2 billion USD to the state by 2029 through ‘Utkarsha Utkal’ summits,” the CM, who hold the finance portfolio, said while presenting Rs 2.65 lakh crore Odisha budget in the state Assembly
He further stated that Rs 1935 crore has been allocated for CM-Kisan Yojana, Rs 5450 crore for Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana, Rs 1,000 crore for Viksit Gaon, Viksit Odisha; and Rs 332 crore for Panchasakha Shikshya Setu Abhiyan.
“To give a major fillip to the transformation of rural areas, we have launched a new scheme, Vikasit Gaon Vikasit Odisha. The objective of the scheme is to provide urban amenities in rural areas with an outlay of Rs 1,000 crore,” Majhi said.
Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana, the state’s own health assurance scheme, will be implemented in convergence with Ayushman Bharat PM-Jay Yojana for which Rs 500 crore has been allocated. Under this scheme, beneficiaries to get cashless treatment facilities at private and government hospitals, he added.
Besides, Biju Setu Yojana has been renamed as Setu Bandhan Yojana (Rs 1990 crore) and LAccMI Scheme as Gramanchal Paribahan (Rs 1085 crore).
