Bhubaneswar: With less than 48 hours to go for the bypoll to Padampur, people of other areas and districts have been asked to leave the constituency by 4 pm on Saturday.
“Raids will be conducted on hotels, guesthouses and other places after 4 pm,” informed Bargarh Collector Monisha Banerjee.
She further said polling parties are being dispersed to 309 of 319 booths, except those in NAC areas. “We had identified 79 critical booths, the number may go up depending on the situation. Accordingly, 91 micro observers will be deployed in 161 booths. Arrangements have been made for either webcasting or CCTVs at all booths,” she said.
Bargarh SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas also informed that 45 patrolling teams will be deployed for the by-election. A total of 22 check posts have been set up, including 20 at places bordering Chhattisgarh, to keep a vigil on people of other districts/places, he added.
The by-election is scheduled to be held on December 5 and the counting of votes is on December 8.
