Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet on Tuesday approved 12 proposals of 11 departments at its meeting chaired by chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena said a new scheme in health sector, “Ama Hospital”, has been approved in the meeting. An initiative under 5T, the scheme aims at strengthening public health infrastructure for improved standards of care and wellbeing of the patient and better basic amenities for patients and their attendants.
Following are major components of the scheme:
This initiative will be implemented across all facilities in the state in a phased manner in five years. In the first year, 149 public health facilities are being strengthened. A sum of Rs 3388.73 crore have been provisioned for the scheme.
