Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday approved certain modifications in the guidelines for the Subhadra Yojana launched by the state government for the empowerment of women.

The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accepted deviations from the exclusion criteria listed in the scheme guidelines, specifically with respect to applicants present in the National Food Security Act (NFSA) /State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) database.

The decision was taken considering the justification provided and the resultant list of eligible beneficiaries submitted by OCAC.

This apart, the Cabinet approved the inclusion of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) as a mode of providing financial assistance under Subhadra. Furthermore, it was decided that ATM-cum-debit cards will not be issued to Subhadra beneficiaries.

In order to facilitate verification, the portal will be delinked from the Aadhaar e-KYC module for the period from September 8 to September 13, 2024. During this time, electronic Know-Your-Customer (e-KYC) verification will be conducted through alternative databases, such as NFSA and PM KISAN.

The Cabinet also modified Subhadra Yojana guidelines to include two non-official Civil Society representatives in the Block/Urban Local Body (ULB) Level Scrutiny Committee (BLSC/ULSC).
These representatives will be nominated by the chairpersons of the Block/ULB level scrutiny committee.
