Odisha-Cadre IAS Officer Santosh Sarangi Appointed DG, Foreign Trade

New Delhi: Odisha-cadre IAS officer Santosh Kumar Sarangi has been appointed Director General (DG) of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

A 1994-batch officer, Sarangi is currently serving as Additional Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has also approved the appointment of 12 other IAS officers of different cadres. They are as follows:

>> B V Umadevi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change posted as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.

>> Shashank God, presently in the cadre, as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment.

>> Shailesh Kumar Singh, lAS, presently in the cadre, as Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

>> Manish Kumar Gupta, Principal Commissioner, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, has been appointed as Vice-Chairman, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.

>> Chanchal Kumar, presently in the cadre, as Managing Director, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd,  Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

>> Ashish Srivastava, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, has been posted as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, by cancelling the December 4, 2021, order regarding his appointment as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR).

>> Hari Ranjan Rao, Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, as Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund, Department of Telecommunications.

>> VL Kantha Rao, Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition), Ministry of Defence, as Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications in place of Hari Ranjan Rao.

>> Pankaj Agrawal, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, as Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition), Ministry of Defence in place of VL Kantha Rao.

>> Vikram Dev Dutt, presently in the cadre, as Chairman & Managing Director, Air India Ltd., Ministry of Civil Aviation.

>> Anuradha Thakur, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

>> Naresh Pal Gangwar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in place BV Umadevi.

The Committee has also approved the extension in central deputation tenure of Ashutosh Jindal, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, for one year from February 16 this year.
