Bhubaneswar: Odisha-cadre IPS officer Sarah Sharma has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the CBI for five years.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has intimated the Chief Secretary of Odisha about the approval of her central deputation. “It is therefore, requested that Sarah Sharma may be relieved immediately to enable her to take up the new assignment at the Centre,” the letter dated March 12 said.
Sarah Sharma was among the three officers of Odisha police, who had joined the CBI probe into the ethnic violence in Manipur. The 2010-batch officer was then serving as SP (Vigilance), Sambalpur, and was relieved by Odisha police in September 2023 to be part of the investigation.
