Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and prominent dignitaries will go on Shri Marg to the inauguration of heritage corridor project at Jagannath Temple in Puri on Wednesday.
This was revealed by chief secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena while speaking to media persons after reviewing the arrangements for the inaugural function in the Pilgrim Town on Monday.
Stating that all arrangements were in final stage of completion, Jena said the invited guests from outside the state will start arriving in Puri from today. Accommodation for them has been arranged for their stay in different hotels and other facilities.
Seeking people’s cooperation for the event, he said, “Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a smooth conduct of the inaugural function is everybody’s responsibility.”
Jena said the Sri Setu on the way to Puri will be opened to the public after its inauguration by the chief minister on the day.
“With the yajna for three days starting on Monday, the entire Puri town is reverberating with an atmosphere of religious fervour,” he added.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police Arun Sarangi reviewed security arrangements at different places in the town on the day. Stating that over 80 platoons of police force would be deployed on the inauguration day, Sarangi said a four-tier security system along with the bomb squad would be put in place in Puri. The security will be tightened inside the temple also.
