Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday issued order for allotment of a house to an ASHA worker in appreciation of her efforts to shift people to a safe place before cyclone Dana in Odisha’s Kendrapada district.

The chief minister talked to the ASHA worker, Sibani Mandal of Khasmunda village under Rajnagar block of the district, over phone and expressed his appreciation for helping the people at the time of crisis. He had praised Sibani for carrying an elderly woman, affected by paralysis, on her back to a cyclone shelter during the evacuation drive on Thursday.

While talking to the chief minister, Sibani said she had carried seven adult persons and two pregnant women in similar manner to the cyclone shelter.

Majhi thanked her for going out of the way to help the people in need at the time of natural disaster. “You have set an example of selfless service and commitment to your profession for others. My government and myself are very happy with your works. I pray to Lord Jagannath to bless you with strength and determination to keep doing the good work,” he said.

While enquiring about Sibani’s family, the chief minister came to know that she did not have a house of her own. He immediately directed Rajnagar BDO to make arrangements for allotment of a house to Sibani. He also assured her of extending all basic facilities to her in future.
