Balasore: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had words of praise for Alok Bhanja, a 20-year-old from Balasore district who secured the top spot among 7 lakh aspirants of research scientists at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
Alok’s father Dayanidhi Bhanja is a vegetable farmer and mother Gitanjali a homemaker. He had showed signs of brilliance when just seven by winning a scholarship for his studies at the Shraddhapur High School in Bhogarai. He secured 90 per cent marks in Matriculation and then completed Plus II in Science from Vidyanjali College.
He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree from Balasore’s Fakir Mohan Autonomous College.
Sources said, after completing his graduation, Alok will be imparted training at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and at the Particle Board of Russia.
“Success is obvious with devotion towards work. Alok Bhanja from Balasore’s Praharajpur, who will soon join as a scientist in ISRO, is a burning example of this saying,” the chief minister tweeted. “I wish he brings more laurels for Odisha as well as the country. I would like to wish Alok and his family for this achievement.”
