Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announces assistance for a meritorious student of Balangir, Tarachan Rana.
The CM has approved Rs 96,500 for his admission into NIT, Warangal and helped him tide over the paucity of funds, which had cast a shadow on his future.
A native of Badapada village in the district, Tarachan qualified to study at NIT-Warangal by securing 99.35 per cent marks in JEE Main. With his father Upasu Rana’s meagre yearly income of Rs 45,000, he found it difficult to deposit the required amount for admission.
With much difficulty, Tarachan managed to block the seat by depositing some amount and then requested the CM to grant the balance amount.
On being apprised about his financial condition, the CM ordered for immediate sanction of Rs 96,500 for completing the admission process and wished him a bright future,
