Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched 26 new state-of-the-art ‘108’ ambulances to provide emergency healthcare services to the people.
The Chief Minister flagged off the emergency vehicles at a programme in Bhubaneswar.
The new ambulances were procured using the state’s own funds. The government has spent over Rs 10.92 crore for the purpose, an official release said.
It may be noted here that that the emergency ambulance service is successfully functioning in the state to carry victims of accidents & natural calamities, pregnant women, and critically ill people to the nearest hospital free of cost.
