Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made another an aerial survey of the areas affected by cyclone ‘Dana’ in the state on Monday.
The Chief Minister conducted the aerial survey over affected areas in Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts from a special helicopter, official sources said.
This was Majhi’s second aerial survey of the cyclone-hit areas as he had undertaken a similar exercise on Sunday. He had conducted aerial survey of some areas of Kendrapada and Bhadrak districts on Sunday.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and senior officials during the second aerial survey.
Following the aerial survey, the CM conducted a review meeting at Balasore to take stock of the situation and make an assessment of the damage caused by the cyclone and the subsequent flash-flood.
Officials said Majhi also reviewed the restoration and rehabilitation work being undertaken in the areas affected by the cyclone and the flash-flood.
The Chief Minister is also scheduled to review damage at a meeting at the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) later.
It may be noted that the Chief Minister has already directed the officials to prepare the damaged report by November 2. It would help the government disburse the compensation to the affected people, he said.
Notably, Majhi made an aerial survey of the affected areas in Paradip, Mahakalpada, Rajnagar, Rajkanika and Chandbali on Sunday.
