Bhubaneswar: A large number of people from different parts of Odisha thronged Bhubaneswar with put forward their grievances before Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The Chief Minister listened to the grievances from members of the general public in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo and other Ministers at the CM’s Grievance Cell located at Unit-V in the capital city.

People from across the state lined up at the CM’s Grievance Cell which has been revived by the BJP government after several years.

Official sources said the Chief Minister along with the Dy CM and others personally listened to the grievances of people who turned up at the cell for redressal of their grievances.

People from different spheres of society thronged the venue to apprise the government about their problems.

Revival of the grievance redressal process assumes significance as previous Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had virtually stopped visiting the grievance cell.

Sources said Mohan Majhi has decided to regularly listen to the grievances of members of the public. The people are also happy as they will be able to share their problems with the CM for redressal.

Notably, the state government has also ordered resumption of Monday hearing of public grievances in all departments and also at the district level. Instruction in this regard has been issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance department.

Accordingly, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Bhubaneswar Municipal Commission (BMC) also resumed grievance hearing on Monday. Hearing will be conducted every Monday (except govt holidays) between 11 am and 1.30 pm.
