Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi who went pandal hopping on Ashtami in Bhubaneswar on Friday, prayed for prosperity of the state and its people.
The CM was accompanied by his wife Dr Priyanka Marandi to the puja pandals in Bhubaneswar today.
The CM started with Patna Sahi puja in Old Town which is celebrating its platinum jubilee this year followed by puja mandaps in Sunderpada and Baramunda.
Majhi then visited Durga puja pandals at Nayapalli, Saheed Nagar, Rasulgarh, Bomikhal, Laxmi Sagar, and Station Bazar, in the Odisha capital, the Chief Minister’s Office informed.
Speaking to the press after offering prayers, CM Majhi said, “Today is the Ashtami of Maa Durga. On this auspicious occasion, I got the great fortune to take blessings of Maa Durga….a new government has been formed and with blessings of Maa, and I have been given the responsibility of Chief Minister.”
The CM said that he prayed to Maa Durga for peace, prosperity and happiness of people of Odisha. “I prayed for blessings and guidance to transform our state into new and prosperous Odisha,” Majhi added.
On the occasion the CM Majhi and his wife Dr Marandi were felicitated by various puja committees.
