Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will hand over appointment letters to over 16,000 school teachers, who were recently selected, on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the School and Mass Education department on Friday, the chief minister will give the appointment letters at a function in Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. He will hand over the official letters of recruitment to 16,009 junior teachers (Schematic) in primary and upper primary schools of the state.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and senior officials are scheduled to attend the programme, organised by the School and Mass Education department.
The appointment of the teachers is expected to strengthen the education of children at primary level and ensure quality teaching, the department said in the statement. It is a step towards the state government’s ‘Viksit Odisha’ by 2036.
