Bhubaneswar: Odisha unit of Congress party on Sunday launched an online portal for the aspirants to apply for party tickets for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.
AICC Odisha in-charge Ajoy Kumar launched the portal, pragaman.in, in the presence of former state president Prasad Harichandan and senior Congress leaders at the Congress Bhavan in the state capital.
Kumar informed the media that the Congress launched the portal so that good people, who want to work for society, can join politics. He assured that ticket distribution to the aspirants will be fair and transparent.
“There will be no discrimination in the distribution of tickets through the portal. It does not matter whether you have money or not, whether you are a man or woman or belong to any caste and religion… everyone will be treated equally. A transparent system has been adopted for this purpose,” PTI quoted him as saying.
Anyone interested in contesting on a Congress ticket can apply on the portal from February 4 to 11.
