Bhubaneswar: The All Odisha Contractors Association (AOCA) on Thursday urged the state government to release the arrears of contractors within 15 days.
The AOCA also demanded a Rs 500 crore livelihood assistance for 50,700 contractors.
Due to non-availability of adequate labourers amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, construction work in the state has been badly hit, thereby affecting livelihood of contractors. Considering their plight, the association has urged the state government to immediately provide financial assistance to them.
