Bhubaneswar: The coronavirus tally in Odisha rose to 1723 on Friday with 63 more persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to Health Department sources, 61 of these cases have been detected in quarantine centres, while two are local.
Khurda reported the highest 12 new cases followed by Jagatsinghpur (11), Ganjam (4), Balasore (3), Cuttack (3), Puri (1), Nayagarh (7), Balangir (6), Sundargarh (2), Mayurbhanj(1), Dhenkanal (9), Sambalpur (1), Koraput (1), Jharsuguda (1) and Nabarangpur (1).
Details of these fresh cases are awaited.
With seven deaths and 887 recoveries, Odisha now has 827 active cases. Two persons have died in Balasore and Khurda districts respectively for reasons other than COVID-19, the sources added.
