Bhubaneswar: Nuapada reported the highest number of new COVID cases for the second consecutive day on Sunday as Odisha saw 14 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 19 cases on Saturday and 13 among them were from Nuapada.
According to the I & PR department, 8 of the new infection are from quarantine and 6 local contacts. Four among them are in the age group of 0-18 against 13 the previous day.
Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:
1. Balasore: 1
2. Cuttack: 3
3. Khurda: 1
4. Nuapada: 9
With these cases being detected from 14,613 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.09 per cent.
Odisha now has 138 active cases with 36 from Nuapada followed by 25 from Khurda, 15 from Gajapati and 12 from Boudh. While 10 districts are free from coronavirus, the remaining 16 have active cases in single digit.
