Bhubaneswar: A 98-year-old retired police officer, Damodar Mohanty, who took the first Covaxin shot on Thursday along with his son, was pleasantly surprised at the experience.
“I used to do it for my children and grandchildren. But Covid has changed everything,” Mohanty was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
According to him, several senior citizens were accompanied by their children and grandchildren to get the first vaccine shot. “I had doubts as to the vaccine’s side effects, but doctors present there cleared it,” he said.
Mohanty started his police career even before independence and retired as an inspector.
