Odisha DJ Azex’s Death: Police Register ‘Abetment Of Suicide’ Case Against Girlfriend, Her Aide

Bhubaneswar: Even as the death of DJ Azex aka Akshay Kumar is still shrouded in mystery, Kharvela Nagar police in Odisha capital registered a case of abetment of suicide on Monday on the basis of a complaint lodged by his mother.

In the complaint, Laxmipriya has alleged that there was a love triangle in which Azex’s girlfriend and her lover used to blackmail Azex, leading to his suicide.

According to police, the case has been registered against the Azex’s girlfriend and her lover for abetment of suicide under sections 306 and 34 of IPC. Investigation into the incident is in progress.

“Azex’s girlfriend and her lover will be called to the police station to record their statements,” a police officer said.

Notably, Azex was found hanging in his room at his Kharvela Nagar residence in Odisha capital, his family members on Sunday alleged that he had taken the extreme step due to betrayal in love.

Azex’s uncle told the media that he was being blackmailed by the girl, a medical student. His kin had claimed to have seen some threatening messages in his phone and reference to a someone called Rashmi.

Azex had also recently transferred Rs 15,000 to her account while the girl was reportedly two-timing them, it was alleged.

The woman was reportedly forcing Azex to contact Rashmi and perform at all parties being organised by him. The popular DJ was also allegedly being mentally tortured.

The DJ had last talked to his family around 6.30 pm on Saturday before retiring to his room. He was found hanging in his room at 10.30 pm.
