Bhubaneswar: The by-election to Brajrajnagar Assembly constituency will be held on May 31. This was announced by the Election Commission of India on Monday.
The last date for nominations is May 11, scrutiny on May 12 and last date for withdrawal is May 17, the ECI stated in its notification. The counting has been scheduled for June 3.
The election has been necessitated following the death of Brajarajnagar MLA Kishore Kumar Mohanty. Mohanty had died following cardiac arrest on December 30 last year at the age of 63.
Today, the ECI also announced dates for Thrikkakara Assembly constituency in Kerala and Champawat Assembly constituency in Uttarakhand.
