Umerkote: Elections officials on Friday conducted checks in the helicopter, carrying BJD leader and 5T Chairman V K Pandian, at Umerkote in Odisha’s Nabaranpur.
According to sources, a five-member team, including local magistrate and police officers, searched the helicopter in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. However, nothing was found in the chopper, the sources added.
Pandian had travelled to Umerkote to address a public meeting. It is part of Nabarangpur parliamentary constituency, which will go to poll along with Berhampur, Koraput and Kalahandi on May 13.
The BJD leader had campaigned in some assembly segments in Koraput on Thursday.
