Balasore: Amid the coronavirus scare following the huge influx of migrants, sarpanch of Khaira gram panchayat in Balasore district Sudarsan Sethi has imposed a 48-hour shutdown from 6 am on Tuesday.
By exercising the power of district collectors vested on the panchayat heads by the state government, the sarpanch announced the total shutdown for active surveillance to check the spread of the virus.
It will remain in effect till May 14.
However, hospitals and medicine stores in the locality will remain open during the period.
