Bhubaneswar: Odisha girl Aahan has been selected to join International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) Junior Grand Slam Player Development Programme for Europe.
The 14-year-old Aahan is one of the eight players selected by ITF from Asian countries.
The eight players will visit different European countries to play tournaments for five weeks.
It will give Aahan, No. 1 in girls’ under-14 category, valuable international exposure and a chance to earn points and improve her world ranking.
Aahan was a girls’ U-18 semifinalist in the ITF World Junior Tennis Tour J30 meet at Bhubaneswar earlier this month.
She represented India in the ITF World Junior U-14 team competition two months ago at Kuching, Malaysia. She also participated in Asian Development Final U-14 category at Kuching last month.
Odisha Tennis Association, which is supporting Odisha’s budding talent in her pursuit to bring more laurels for India, congratulated Aahan for being chosen in the ITF team.
