Bhubaneswar: The state government on Friday announced that laboratories in universities and colleges across the state can be reopened.
A letter issued by the Higher Education department stated that the laboratories in universities and colleges can be opened only for research scholars pursuing PhD, MPhil and post-graduate students in science and technology streams requiring experimental works.
The department directed that the higher educational institutions must ensure that COVID-19 guidelines are strictly followed by the students and teachers in the laboratories.
While all educational institutions have remained closed till December 31 due to COVID-19 pandemic, the state government allowed reopening of medical colleges from December 1 following the direction from the Central government recently.
