Cuttack: The Higher Education department has urged the National Law University, Odisha (NLUO) to reserve 25 per cent seats for state students.
Students of Odisha scoring 60 per cent in Class 12 should be chosen for the proposed reservation for the university’s undergraduate degree, the department wrote to NLUO on Friday.
The letter also stated that the Odisha government has provided nearly Rs 200 crores for the university’s infrastructure. The students of NLUO had recently put up an indefinite strike protesting against poor infrastructure and lackadaisical attitude of the management.
A similar reservation request was sent to the university last year but it has not been implemented, said Saswat Mishra, secretary of the Odisha Higher Education department.
