Odisha Govt Cancels All Forms Of Transport From Chhattisgarh From This Date

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has cancelled all forms of transport from and to Chhattisgarh from April 10.

The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) in an order to district collectors, SPs, Municipal Commissioners and Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack on Thursday stated that since resurgence of SARS-CoV 2 has been noticed in many parts of India and some areas of Odisha, the state government has promulgated certain stipulations.

The order said all public transport from Odisha to Chhattisgarh and vice versa shall be suspended from April 10 to 30. Transport Commissioner shall issue
appropriate orders in this regard. Transport department with help of State Police
and under guidance of district collectors will set up Border Check Points (BCPs) at strategic locations/border entry points to manage entry of incoming persons/vehicles.

Persons coming through the BCPs shall have to produce Final Vaccination certificate/RT-PCR negative report obtained within 72 hours prior to the entry to
the state or else they will be put in home/institutional quarantine for 7 days.

Besides, people coming to Odisha by any public transport like train, bus, aeroplane, water ways or private vehicles have to produce RT-PCR negative report obtained within 72 hours before entry. People coming without such report shall have to undergo 7 days of mandatory home/institutional quarantine.

Collectors of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabrangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts have been authorised to set up and operationalise Temporary Medical Centres (TMCs)/Cluster Temporary Medical Centres (CL TMCs) as per requirement for providing institutional quarantine facilities.

The industries, educational institutions and commercial establishments have been directed to ensure implementation of COVID appropriate behaviour/protocols and set up their own isolation facilities for COVID-19 positive persons found in their establishments.

Any person found violating this order shall be punished under the provisions of the
Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other relevant laws.

Meanwhile, in a letter to the Railway Board, chief secretary has requested the Railway Board to cancel all passenger carrying trains coming from Chhattisgarh to Odisha from April 10.
