Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday cancelled slot booking for Driving Licence (DL) and Learner’s Licence (LL) tests.
In a release, the State Transport Authority (STA) said that in view of COVID-19 pandemic, it had suspended the DL and LL services on March 25.
It, however, said that the LL expiring from March 18 to September 30 will be valid till September 30.
Stating that the slots booked for DL and LL tests have been cancelled with effect from March 18, the STA said that it will notify the date from which the existing DL and LL applicants can book the fresh slots and the date for the commencement of the DL and LL tests later on.
Informing the applicants that date on which the SARATHI portal will be live will be notified later, the STA said that the fee already paid for the DL and LL tests will remain valid.
It also asked the applicants not to visit the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) for any enquiry regarding DL and LL.
Notably, the STA in a release on Wednesday had announced that the slot booking for DL test will begin at 7 am on Thursday while the slot booking for LL test will begin on June 22.
The DL and LL test will begin on June 18 and 29 respectively with strict implementation of social distancing guidelines. Wearing a mask will be mandatory for the applicants and the concerned employees.
Besides, STA had also asked all employees of the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) to immediately give details of any applicant coming from the containment areas to the police.
