Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday directed the district collectors to verify the liquor stock in all off shops and on shops in the state.
In a letter, Principal Secretary, Excise, SK Lohani has asked the collectors to verify the stock and submit a report at the earliest.
Notably, the state government on May 23 had allowed the home delivery of liquor except in the containment areas while imposing 50 per cent ‘Special COVID Fee’ on the maximum retail price of liquor by amending the provisions under the Odisha Excise Rules, 2017.
