Bhubaneswar: With severe cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ set to hit the Odisha coast by October 25., the state government is leaving no stone unturned to tackle with the situation.
As the coastal areas of the state are likely to bear the brunt of the cyclone, which is inching towards the coast, the state government is bracing up to ensure the safety and security of people.
The state machinery is gearing up to keep the damage due to the cyclone minimum.
While teams of NDRF, ODRAF and Fire Service have been stationed in the vulnerable areas to undertaken rescue and relief operation, the government has made arrangements for evacuation of over ten lakh people in different districts.
As part of the measures, the state government has released emergency helpline phone numbers to assist people in 15 districts including area under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Control rooms have also been set up to oversee the rescue and relief efforts.
